For the sixth consecutive season, and eighth overall, the NLRA is scheduled to run its' annual Labor Day double header this Saturday night, September the 5th, and Sunday night, September the 6th, at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. The races are scheduled to be the second and third appearances by the series during this, the 50th year of racing at the big half-mile oval on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. A pair of rain-outs claimed two previous series events on Sunday May 24th, and during the heat races on Saturday June 27th. The races are scheduled to be the 36th and 37th appearances by the series at the Viking Speedway, the most of any track on the NLRA calendar.

The NLRA series takes to the track two times this week with races at two very different race tracks, first On Thursday night, July the 30th, at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, and on Saturday night, August the 1st at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. First on Thursday night, the series makes its' third and final appearance this season, and 16th overall at the three-eighths mile oval on the Norman County Fairgrounds. Ricky Weiss in the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, swept the fair races in June, with Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch MasterSbuilt by JMR, and Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, also collecting top tens on both nights.
The NLRA embarked on a grueling five race stretch last week, and only saw one event lost to rain, and two different winners. The action began an hour late on Wednesday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as a rain storm that his just before six o'clock. Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, pulled away from a hard charging Don Shaw, and lead the final 21 laps to win his 14th career NLRA main event. The win gave Weiss sole posession of fourth on the all-time wins list, breaking a tie he held with Mitch Johnson.
Ricky Weiss lead 23 of 25 laps for his second win in as many nights, and 15th career NLRA feature win Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Dustin Strand and Zach Johnson put on the best battle on the track as they swapped second and third for most of the last half of the race, with Strand coming out on top. Steffen Snare and Donny Schatz rounded out the top five. Strand's efforts make him the new point leader by just two points over Mike Balcaen heading into the series' debut at the I-94 Raceway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday night. The busiest stretch of the NLRA season continues this week with a demanding run of five races in as many nights. The action starts on Wedesday night, June the 24th and Thursday night, June the 25th at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. On Friday night, June the 26th, the drivers will head south to make the series first appearance at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. Saturday night, action continues for the second time this season at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN, before the five race swing ends on Sunday night at the Buffalo River Race Park near Glyndon, MN.
Brad Seng has won his 27th career NLRA series feature tonight at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Seng had been tied with John Seitz with 26 wins since last August. Seng took the lead from Cody Skytland with 10 laps to go, and lead the rest of the way. Skytland finished second, with Ricky Weiss, Zach Johnson and Mike Balcaen rounding out the top ten. Ricky Weiss and Jeff Wildung each collected their 12th career NLRA series victories last weekend during the series' traditional labor day double header at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Weiss won his second NLRA series feature of the season at the Viking Speedway on Saturday night. Weiss and Jeff Wildung battled for the lead early until Wildung broke while running second on lap 17. Jeff Wildung of Nassau, MN won his second NLRA series feature of the season Sunday night at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Wildung started on the pole, and lead all 25 laps en route to his 12th NLRA series triumph, re-tying him with Ricky Weiss for fifth on the all time wins list. Weiss finished second and was followed to the line by Zach Johnson, Mike Balcaen, and Brad Parson, completing the top five. Brad Seng will carry a 110 point advantage over Mike Balcaen into this Thursday nights' season finale, the 'Prelude to the Johnny' at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
